Client Testimonials
Is Laser Mole Removal Right For You?
Laser treatment works best on moles that are stable and evenly colored, with no recent changes — ideally ones a doctor has already assessed as benign. If yours hasn't been checked and you're not sure of its history, we'll ask you to see a doctor first before treatment.
You may be a good candidate if your mole:
Has stayed the same size, shape, and color for a long time
Has even coloring and a clearly defined, regular border
Is cosmetically or physically bothersome but isn't causing you medical concern
Has been checked previously by a doctor and confirmed benign
We'll ask you to see a doctor first if your mole:
Has changed in size, shape, or color recently
Has irregular, notched, or blurred borders
Contains multiple colors or uneven shading
Is larger than about 6mm across
Bleeds, itches, or feels different from your other moles
Has never been assessed and you're not sure of its history
NOTE: Laser treatment breaks the mole down as it removes it, so there's nothing left afterward to test if it turns out to be something other than a common mole. We'd rather send you for a quick check first than treat something we can't have looked at later.
Not sure which category yours falls into? That's exactly what your consultation is for.
What to Expect From Your Laser Mole Removal at Calgary Laser Health
Session Length: 5 to 20 minutes depending on size and number of moles
Pain Level: Minimal — most clients describe a mild warmth or light snapping sensation
Immediately After: Mild redness or slight raising of the treated area — subsides within hours
Recovery Time: No downtime — return to normal activities the same day
Healing: A small scab forms naturally and falls away within 1–2 weeks
Sessions Needed: Smaller, more superficial moles often clear in a single session — larger or deeper moles may need a follow-up once the area has fully healed
Results: Gradual clearing over 2–4 weeks as your body naturally processes treated cells
How Laser Mole Removal Works At Calgary Laser Health
Laser mole removal uses concentrated beams of light energy to break down the pigmented cells that make up a mole — without cutting, stitching, or scarring the surrounding skin.
At Calgary Laser Health, we use the advanced PICO laser, one of the most precise and effective laser technologies available today. The PICO laser delivers ultra-short pulses of energy directly into the mole tissue, shattering the pigmented cells at a molecular level so your body can naturally clear them over the following weeks.
The result is gradual, natural-looking skin clearing — with little to no trace of where the mole once was. Unlike surgical mole removal, there are no scalpels, no stitches, no significant recovery time, and virtually no risk of the deep scarring that surgical excision can leave behind. Smaller, more superficial moles often clear in a single session; larger or deeper moles may need a follow-up once the area has fully healed, which we'll discuss at your consultation.

Is mole removal covered by Alberta Health Care?
Mole removal for medical reasons — such as a mole your doctor wants tested or removed due to changes or symptoms — is typically handled through the medical system, not a laser clinic. What we offer here is cosmetic removal of moles that have already been assessed as benign; cosmetic procedures aren't covered by Alberta Health Care.
Can any mole be treated with laser removal?
No — laser removal is meant for moles that are stable and already confirmed benign. Moles with irregular borders, uneven color, recent changes, or no prior assessment need to be checked by a physician or dermatologist first, since laser treatment destroys the tissue and rules out later testing. We'll help you figure out which category your mole falls into at your consultation.
How much does mole removal cost in Calgary?
Mole removal starts at $200 and can go as high as $500 while some offices can charge as much as high $1200. Calgary Laser Health Clinic has lower overhead and lower cost to you.
Is Laser Mole Removal Painful?
Laser Mole Removal is typically not painful. More like an irritation like a pleasing scratching sensation.
Laser Mole Removal FAQ
"I am thrilled to offer this testimonial because after being turned away by multiple practitioners, I was skeptical of this quaint little clinic even after being referred by one of my clients. Now I can't even see where my mole was and I often wonder how I lived with it for so long. It was painfully sensitive and rubbed against my bra strap my whole life! Tony is an expert technician and his partner Dr. Sourang is an absolute sweetheart! Thank-you again!

Pigmentation Correction
Moles aren't always the only concern. If sun spots, age spots, or uneven skin tone are bothering you too, our PICO laser pigmentation correction treatments can be combined with your mole removal plan — clearing dark spots and discolouration in the same visit, with zero extra downtime.
Laser Scar Removal
Concerned about scarring from a previous mole removal? Our laser scar treatments smooth and fade existing scars — giving you the clear skin result you were looking for the first time around.
Laser Skin Resurfacing
Laser mole removal clears the spot — but what about the skin around it? Laser skin resurfacing treats the uneven tone, scarring, and texture that often surrounds problem areas, revealing fresher, smoother skin with minimal downtime.
